The Ethnographic Museum of Boikivshchyna and the Museum of the History of the Underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church

The exhibition of the ethnographic museum includes more than two hundred different Boiko women’s shirts, more than ten pairs of various types of footwear, a wide range of tools, household utensils, and more. Other traditional Boiko clothing is also presented in the ethnographic museum. It is distinguished by its comfort and simplicity.

A separate corner is dedicated to Boiko household and work implements: millstones, a flax breaker, distaffs, a flail, a loom, an iron, a sieve, as well as household items such as sieves, painted chests, butter churns, lanterns, and cooking pots.

Indeed, the museum’s greatest treasure is the human stories preserved in memory and on film – bright and tragic, wise and instructive.

On the second floor of the residence, there is a museum room displaying items that reflect the  life from the clandestine period of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in Prykarpattia, Lviv Region, and Ternopil Region. The room has a special atmosphere, seemingly created by objects that once belonged to prominent figures of the underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. In total, the Museum of the History of the Underground Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church contains more than 1,000 exhibits telling the story of the Church’s catacomb life.
