It was built in 1717, after the last invasion of the Tatars, being one of the largest wooden constructions in Romania. Also called the \u201cWooden Cathedral\u201d. Through its monumentality and harmony of proportions, it is, perhaps, the most beautiful wooden church in Maramure\u0219.
